Welcome Residents of Subregion 3
On September 29, 2008 operations began in this region (Eddies Cove East to
Castor River South). Clean up and development of the former Straits/St. Barbe Waste Disposal Site is currently
underway. This site will be developed into a modern consolidated landfill site. A compactor waste disposal truck
is being desigened and manufactured and due to arrive by mid December. Castor River South waste disposal site will be
cleaned up and closed out in the near future. Waste has to be delivered to the new site. In the mean time,
waste is been collected using a pick-up truck. Listed below is the waste collection schedule. This schedule
is subject to change upon the arrival of the new compactor truck. Residents will be notified of any change.

Recommendations for Waste Collection Bag the loose stuff to prevent littering. Make sure all loose
material is bagged. All waste has to be put in large garbage bags rather than several small bags
Please be careful and double bag any items that can come through the
bag Keep it light:
Each filled bag should be lighter than 35 lbs
Garbage Bins have to be located near the curbside
Waste has to b put out by the curbside by 8 a.m.
Please tie your bags before
placing them in your bins
Landfill Schedule
Monday to Saturday - 8:00
a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Landfill site will be closed from 12:00 to 1:00 daily for lunch
Fees
An annual fee per household is $90.00 An annual fee per appartment is $45.00
NorPen will collect business waste for $2 per bag.
